This work was commissioned by the West Springfield High School Wind Symphony; Eric Hoang, director. The piece is rambunctious, raucous and capricious and musically encapsulates the raw, unrefined nature of human adolescence and the many steps we all take on the road to self-discovery. The piece goes through many different stages and moods, some lasting longer than others and often without a clear transition and the sections melding into each other. All the phases come together in the end, layered over each other, with a final cacophony of ideas before it's explosive ending. This is a difficult work and the score is made available to peruse so as to see if the work is possible with your ensemble -- challenging but rewarding music to conquer.
