In Aztec mythology, Xocotzin is the youngest of daughters born to Tlazolteotl the goddess of purification. The daughters each represent some facet of human sexuality -- Xocotzin is goddess of sexual desire and flirtation. This work for solo flute is seductive, playful and enticing to the listener incorporating the sumptuous tone of the instrument and many bends of pitch which work even better on the larger flutes than the standard modern concert flute.
